It was a perfect day. Incredibly beautiful for an August day in the South. The air was heavy, not with the expected humidity but with a rainbow of emotions; of nerves, excitement, love and inexplicable joy.
Upstairs in her childhood home Lauren, her sister and her closest friends took turns in front of the bathroom mirror, swapping hair straighteners, hair dryers, make-up and bobby pins while Tyler and his guys played some mean games of golf at a nearby course. In the backyard Lauren’s dad took a short nap amidst a backyard garden landscaped like a palace after many long days of hard work preparing the house and grounds for his baby girl’s wedding.
Lauren’s wedding was sprinkled with sweet details everywhere! The sash of her dress, the ring bearer pillow and Tyler’s tie were all made from her great-grandmother’s wedding dress…how cool is that?
Oh and check out the look on her dad’s face when he saw her in her dress…it was so so so precious I even teared up!
Lauren loves butterflies–to her they symbolize the presence of God, so they were EVERYWHERE that day! Even on the GORGEOUS handmade programs!
The ceremony was breathtaking. I don’t think there was a dry eye amongst all the wedding guests when Tyler saw his bride. Their love and respect for one another was beautiful. They washed one another’s feet as a symbol of how they will serve one another in marriage. WOW.
After snapping a few pics with the family and bridal party (they were SO fun to work with) we headed to the church for the reception! At the reception guests were served the bridal party’s favorite desserts as the watched the toasts, cutting of the cake and an AWESOME father-daughter dance (that mid-song turned into the YMCA)!
At the end of the night the bride and groom ran through a tunnel of bubbles and sparkles to their getaway car.
Lauren and Tyler, I can’t think of a more perfect way for you to leave your wedding. You two have such fun bubbly personalities and an incredible sparkle in your eyes when you talk about one another. Josue and I are so happy for you and wish you absolutely the best!
