Happy New Year!

Wow…it’s 2010.  A new year!  2009 was a huge year for me… I started a business, traveled internationally 7 times, bought 1 new camera and 2 new lenses, married the man of my dreams, MOVED to Costa Rica, and I learned how to make homemade bread.  Whew!

I love the blank slate that the New Year signifies.  A fresh start.  Another chance.  It’s a bit intimidating to because I like to know what’s next.  I like to make plans.  But this year, besides knowing that I’m going to Vegas in March (for WPPI…WOOHOO), and Greenville, SC in August (family reunion…heck yes!) I have absolutely no idea what this year has in store!

I’m not the type to make New Year’s Resolutions because, quite frankly, commitment freaks me out and I usually fail miserably (at the resolutions), however, this year i have made a few goals.  They are as follows:

1. Eat more veggies (at least two a day)

2. Take 1 excellent (like worth posting or printing) photo.

3. Write 365 blog entries.

I know…you’re reeling too.  The veggies, well, that’s a necessity and it’s so accessible in Costa Rica that I have NO reason not to.

The photos, I’m excited about.  Josue and I talk a lot about how we need to get out and shoot more for fun.  for us.  for practice.  We live in Costa Rica, for cryin out loud…there are beautiful photos waiting to be taken everywhere!

The blogging, well I’m gonna do my best!  I was going to commit to one a day for the year but since I KNOW there will be days I won’t be able to blog, or days when I have absolutely nothing to blog about, I’ll try to make up for it on the days like today, when there’s so much to share I can’t stop typing.

And since I have completely and absolutely neglected this blog since mid-December, {belated} Merry Christmas!  I had the most wonderful Christmas!  My family and I went to our cabin and holed up there for 3 days and did nothing more than hike, play games, laugh and eat…A LOT.  and it was so so so good.  My soul needed that refreshing and my heart needed that time with my family.  AND to top it all off, my siblings and I were able to pull of a surprise and fly my oldest brother home from Colorado to complete the full family Christmas…which hasn’t happened in at least 6 years.  God is good.

And so, since I LOVE pictures, and my family, here are a few from our Christmas!
