hot drinks

I have an extraordinary love for hot drinks.  Coffee, tea, hot cider, hot chocolate, etc.  I love the feeling of a warm mug in my hands.  There’s something so comforting about it…maybe that’s why I can’t go a day without at least a few cups of coffee or tea.  I think it probably goes hand-in-hand with my love of cold weather.  I love when it’s cold outside and I get to cuddle up under a mound of blankets, read a book or watch a movie, and drink something warm.  Living in Costa Rica, cold weather is nearly nonexistent (unless you’re way up in the mountains) and thus I’m left to drink my hot tea on a daily basis and dream of snow flurries.

I’m also quite particular about my mugs.  I don’t drink British tea from a mug, it must be drunk from a porcelain or china teacup (of which I only have one).  Herbal and green teas, I drink from a larger mug, and coffee I drink from a mid-size mug.  I got a new one recently that has a snakeskin texture on the outside.  I love it.  I currently use it every day.

And so here is me, in all my morning glory, drinking coffee from my snakeskin mug.  Please don’t judge the chipping fingernails or the UK sweatshirt in the background.  I am who I am…and it’s still morning!  (at least I spared you my face, right?)

Sandra Marlowe - Hey, that new favorite mug looks like it could be alligator, not snake skin. And your nail color is maybe a bit close to Gator orange! Love, love your blog – and the joy of having a peek through the “window” into your world!

Rachael - who has time for manicures, right? We’ll be thinking of you as our “big” snowstorm hits tomorrow – could be huge, could be nothing, we’ll just have to wait & see! Wish you were here for the sledding though! :)
